Strike Magazine isn’t just a publication—it’s a movement. It was born from the drive to give students a platform to express their creativity, where fashion, culture, and lifestyle collide in unexpected ways. As a Layout Designer for Strike, I had the opportunity to redefine what student-run media could be.

Problem: Building a Visual Narrative

Our audience wanted more than just a magazine—they craved an experience. My mission as Layout Designer? To design and lead the visual storytelling for two of Strike's key projects: the biannual publication and the monthly newsletter.

Solution: storytelling

When tasked with creating Strike’s first monthly newsletter, I saw an opportunity to establish a format that would set the tone for all future publications. My goal was to seamlessly blend essential cross-chapter announcements with the creative, cultural vibe that defines our magazine. By experimenting with fonts, collage techniques, and dynamic layouts, I developed a newsletter format that not only delivered key updates to an audience of 35,000 across 14 branches but also embodied the fun, editorial spirit of Strike. This format became the blueprint for all subsequent monthly newsletters, ensuring a consistent and engaging connection with our audience.

Simultaneously, I worked on our biannual publication, conceptualizing and crafting layouts that turned raw ideas into visually compelling stories, all while maintaining Strike’s signature edgy and experimental aesthetic. But my role extended beyond design—I also mentored a team of 7 talented designers, guiding them in creating weekly digital brand assets that truly captured Strike’s essence.

impact: A Legacy

The results? We established a brand that students recognized and connected with on a deeper level. Strike Magazine became more than just a publication—it became a beacon of creativity, a place where boundaries were meant to be pushed, and every design told a story worth remembering.
